
Aaron Dixon, Weekend Anchor/Reporter
He is originally from Vestavia Hills, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham
Aaron joined the WDHN News team in August of 2021, this is his second job out of college. He was a News Photographer for nine months in Fargo, North Dakota, where he covered breaking news and helped with morning newscast.
During his time at Troy University in Troy, Alabama he was involved with TROY TrojanVision News, a student-led television news station. There, after starting as a production assistant, he became a reporter, weather forecaster, and anchor, learning many of the skills he applies to his work today.
Aaron also assisted with the Sports Information department at Troy, where he kept stats, cut game footage, and was in charge of covering different sports, such as the Troy Women’s Tennis
Aaron has found his true calling in journalism and earned a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism with minors in Sports Information and in Leadership Development
Away from work, Aaron loves to spend time with his family and friends and is a sports junkie, and loves to cheer on his teams. Aaron loves his Troy Trojans, but is also a big Florida State Seminole Fan. Aaron is an alumni of FarmHouse Fraternity and a member of the Greek honor society, Order of Omega, at Troy University.
