
Joseph Sims, Anchor
Joseph Sims co-anchors WDHN’s morning show, Wake Up Wiregrass, and midday show, WDHN Daytime with Michael Rinker. Those Shows air on weekdays from 5 a.m.- 7 a.m. and Daytime begins at 11 a.m.
Joseph joined the WDHN news staff in May of 2023 as a morning anchor for his first job as a TV personality out of college.
Joseph was born and raised in Montgomery, AL attending Booker T. Washington Magnet High School. He started his broadcast journey doing Play X Play, anchoring “Yellow Jacket Production”, and “Football Weekly” his senior year. Joseph has always been a huge sports fan rooting for Alabama, and he played baseball, soccer, and ran cross country growing up.
After High School, Joseph pursued his passion for broadcast attending the Dan Patrick School of Sportscasting at Full Sail University. There he had hands-on training that accelerated his learning experience allowing him to graduate with a bachelor’s science degree at just 20 years old.
Outside of work, Joseph enjoys playing his guitar or listening to music, his favorite band is Aerosmith and he encourages anyone who has not heard them to listen to them. You can most likely find Joseph at a record store or a guitar center in the Dothan Area.
