Sara Wilson, Multimedia Journalist
Meet Sara Wilson, who is a true Florida native straight out of Orange County. She was born and raised in Orlando.
Sara joined the WDHN news team June 2020 as a Multimedia Journalist.
Sara is a proud Wildcat that attends Bethune-Cookman University, where she will receive her B.A in Journalism with a concentration in Multimedia Journalism this fall. Starting out as a Biology major then switching to Communications in 2018. During that time, she spent most of her time in the local television station on campus producing several shows alongside her peers, mentored and groomed underclassmen to be TV personalities, held media panels, served as one of the university’s ambassadors for Communications, and producing/anchoring their TV station newscast weekly. She was also a writer for the school newspaper. In addition, she was the President of The National Association of Black Journalists garnishing enough funds for members to attend the annual convention that summer.
During this time, Sara also became an intern for WESH 2 News in Winter Park over the summer, and reporter for the Daytona Beach News-Journal following.
Sara is excited to embark on her career at WDHN, as she found her true purpose in life just after switching to the field for just a year. As a naturally spry and enthusiastic individual, she is committed to getting to know the community and changing it for the better ensuring everyone’s voices are heard! Sara also mentors several students at Cookman and enjoys helping others.
When she is not working, she enjoys reading, listening to music, catching up with friends and family, doing yoga and leisurely shopping. If you want to say hello and get to know me more or have a story idea, hit me up!
