Tonya Pruitt joined the WDHN news team in January 2018 and anchors the 10 o’clock evening news. She graduated from Troy University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism. While in college, Tonya was a member of the university’s dance team and Alpha Delta Pi sorority. After a twelve year hiatus from the news industry, she is excited to return to WDHN to help deliver the local news to the community. She was previously employed as a reporter at both WDHN and WTVY. Other previous jobs she has held include communications specialist with Southern Nuclear Company, freelance writer for Wiregrass Living Magazine, professional development coordinator at Flowers Hospital and was a flight attendant with AirTran Airways. Tonya is also a licensed realtor employed with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Showcase Properties. She is a member of Covenant United Methodist Church, the Dothan Service League, Ozark Chamber of Commerce, Dothan Area Young Professionals and the Wiregrass Home Builders Association. She has one daughter, Sara Beth.
