DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The 73rd annual Press Thornton Future Masters is right around the corner.
Thursday festivities began with a media luncheon.
This year’s tournament field is made up of 444 young men from all over the world.
Thirty states and five countries are represented.
Eight wiregrass natives will be competing for a coveted blue jacket.
The 2020 and 2021 back-to-back champion Carter Loflin will not be competing in this year’s tournament.
Organizers are proud that the tournament has gotten as big as it is today.
“It’s more than just golf,” Tournament Coordinator Angelia Wade Turner said. “It’s the people that you meet. It’s the friendships. It’s getting to know these kids and watching them grow up and win the Masters.”
The golf tournament takes place June 18-25 at Dothan Country Club.
WDHN will have coverage for the entire week.
