ALABAMA (WDHN) — Seven Wiregrass athletes have been selected for the baseball and softball North-South All-Star teams.
The teams are made up of 2023 rising seniors who were chosen by a committee of coaches based on nominations from schools’ coaches.
Three Wiregrass guys will represent our area for the South baseball team.
Coming off of a state championship G.W. Long’s third baseman Brant Brady, Providence Christian’s left handed pitcher Harrison Mims and Enterprise’s outfielder Andrew Shiver will take the field for South.
Dale County’s Patrick Street will serve as a coach for the South team as well.
The softball team features four Wiregrass girls.
Rehobeth’s catcher Gracie Alberson, fresh off a state title run Geneva’s shortstop Madison Johnson, Ashford’s standout pitcher Savannah Money, and G.W. Long’s first baseman Ainsley Watts will compete for the South team.
Elba’s Susan Barnes will be an administrative coach.
All-Star week takes place July 18-22.
