DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — For the first time, Southeast Health was given an ‘A’ for the spring of 2022 by an organization that measures patient safety.
LeapFrong Hospital Safety Grade grades hospitals on driving quality, safety, and transparency in healthcare systems nationwide. The grades are updated twice a year. The organization recognized Southeast Health for protecting patients from preventable harm and error in the hospital.
Hospitals can either choose to volunteer for a survey that grades infection response, problems with surgeries, safety problems, practices to prevent errors, and efforts by doctors, nurses, and hospital staff.
According to officials at Southeast Health, they started volunteering to take the survey seven years ago to ensure patient safety is being met.
The hospital says this grading isn’t their end goal. They will continue to take steps to become a top 100 hospital in the county, something they believe will happen soon.
