WIREGRASS (WDHN) — With high inflation and skyrocketing grocery prices, some families are struggling this Thanksgiving. To make sure no one goes without, Wiregrass 2-1-1 has put together a list of locations offering free Thanksgiving meals and volunteer opportunities in the Wiregrass.

Here are some options where you can receive a free meal or volunteer for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Coffee County, Ala.

The Christian Mission Center located at 231 Geneva Highway in Enterprise, will be offering a Thanksgiving Drive-Thru Dinner on Thursday, November 24. The drive-thru will be open from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. For any questions please call (334) 393-2607.


Dale County, Ala.

Choppers Ol’ School BBQ is offering a free 10th-anniversary Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 24. There will be drop-off locations at Fort Rucker, Enterprise, Level Plains, Ozark, New Brockton, and Wicksburg from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. They will also have the option for dining in and carrying out.

  • Enterprise:  Big Lots parking lot by Dairy Queen
  • Level Plains:  Inland parking lot on the right side of the building
  • Ozark:  All-In Credit Union on 231 South
  • Ft Rucker:  PX parking lot & Boss parking lot at 2:00 pm only
  • New Brockton:  The Outpost Casual Dining, 711 E. McKinnon Street
  • Wicksburg:  High School parking lot

Houston County, Ala.

Moma Tina’s will be offering Thanksgiving meals on Thursday, November 24th from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Soup Kitchen.

Volunteers are needed to help prepare meals and feed people that day as well as help deliver meals. 

The following donations are still needed:

  • Turkey
  • Ham
  • “To-go” plates
  • Plastic utensils
  • Desserts
  • Favorite dish of your choice

The Dothan Rescue Mission located at 216 East Crawford Street in Dothan, will be offering a Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, November 24.

Those in need of a meal can walk in for a plate from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. For more information on donations or volunteering, please call (334) 794-4637

Living Hope Community Outreach Center located at 309 North Lena Street in Dothan, will be offering its Annual Thanksgiving meal outreach on Thursday, November 24.

Walk-ins are welcome from 10:30 a.m. until the food runs out. There is a limit of one plate per person and each person must be present.

Love in Action located at 279 West Main Street suite 2 in Dothan, will be offering a Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, November 24.

Those in need of a meal can walk in from 11:00 a.m. until the food runs out. There is a limit of one plate per person and each person must be present.

Free community Thanksgiving dinner presented by Natasha K. Scott Ministries & $5 Bling by Tasha, will be located at 655 Headland Avenue in Dothan.

Walk-ins are welcome from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
