HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Just as in the rest of the country, Alabama’s COVID-19 positivity rate sees a steady rise in cases.
Currently, the state positivity rate for the coronavirus is 19.7%, this time last month that rate was just 8%.
In the Wiregrass, COVID cases are following suit with the state with every single Wiregrass county, now listed as ‘high’ for the spread of the coronavirus, meaning each county has a rate higher than 10%.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, over 1.3 million COVID cases have been recorded in the state with almost 20,000 Alabamians losing their lives to the virus. 2,900 of those lives lost happened this year alone.
