COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — As WDHN reported in recent weeks, Wiregrass counties are now listed as a source of the high transmission of the coronavirus. Now, ironically, the man who reports on the number of COVID cases for Coffee County has himself tested positive.

The number of cases and hospitalizations is once again on the rise.

Coffee County EMA Director James Brown says he followed the CDC policy of masking in public and washing hands, but still contracted it.

For Brown, this is the second time since the pandemic started two-and-a-half years ago that he’s contracted the virus. By the way, Brown says he was fully vaccinated when he tested positive over the July 4th holiday weekend.
