DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A resident at Dothan’s Westside Terrace is waiting for the all-clear after testing positive for COVID-19 around June 19.
So far, this is the only case reported at the nursing home. Once again, this is not reflected in the government-run website keeping track of nursing home data, which has been found to contain errors.
Following the resident’s diagnosis, the home ramped up precautionary measures to prevent further infections and placed all who may have been exposed into isolation. At the time, these residents were receiving follow-up care.
So far, the positive resident has tested negative for COVID-19 once, but protocol requires two negative tests to signify a recovery. Westside Terrace is waiting for this second test.
