DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — On Saturday, a winner was crowned in the 2021 Miss National Peanut Festival Pageant.
26 contestants from Alabama, Florida, and Georgia competed in the pageant finals Saturday night.
The pageant categories included verbal communication, evening gown, interview, peanut knowledge, and written communication.
Four of the top five finalists were from the Wiregrass area including Miss Slocomb, Miss Wicksburg, Miss Ozark, and Miss Geneva.
The prize for winning the pageant includes being the spokesperson for southeastern peanut farmers, as well as monetary prizes from local businesses.
And this year’s miss peanut goes to Miss Wicksburg, Lydia Paulson!
First runner-up is Miss Ozark Claudia walker, second runner-up is Miss Geneva Cameron Mitchum, and the third-runner up is Miss Slocomb madison ward.
