SLOCOMB, Ala. (WDHN) — The smell of barbeque was in the air in Geneva County, as a new restaurant is in town.
Tin Pig in Slocomb opened its doors to the public this afternoon.
The owners opened up a little early as the line began to build.
James McMiller, a Slocomb native and his wife Holly have been looking to open a barbeque restaurant for nearly three years.
Now they finally have a place on West Lawrence Street in Slocomb.
McMiller says that being from Slocomb and being able to bring a barbeque place to his hometown is special.
“It means a lot,” McMiller said. “There is no barbeque place here and by us being here we hope to bring some real good food to the people of Slocomb.”
The tin pig will be open Monday through Wednesday and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 7p.m.
McMiller says what makes his barbeque special is that they make it with love, which he says is what makes the food so special.
