(WFLA) — The suspect at the center of the Georgia AMBER Alert issued Wednesday is in an armed standoff with highway patrol troopers and police in Tampa.

The Florida Highway Patrol said 29-year-old Caesar Crockett Jr. led police on a high-speed pursuit after being spotted near Interstate 75 and Fowler Avenue. The pursuit reached speeds up to 120 miles-per-hour until Crockett Jr. crashed while exiting I-4 at I-75.

Troopers said the child was safely recovered, but the suspect remains armed and inside the vehicle as of 3:30 p.m.

Police advise the public to stay clear of the area.

(WDHN/CNN Newsource) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office say 29-year-old Caesar Crockett got into an altercation with his son’s mother, and then he shot and killed her sister, mother, and step-father before taking his son,King Crockett.

Authorities in Georgia have put out a Levi’s call, the equivalent of an amber alert, for a child they say was taken by his father. In Florida, an AMBER alert has been declared for the child after he was spotted in Gainesville,Fl.

King Crockett was last seen on the 7400 block of Newberry Road and I-75 in Gainesville, Florida, wearing a black hoodie with a blue Superman symbol, a black shirt, and blue jogging pants on the side. He is three feet tall and weighs 35 pounds.

King is believed to be with Caesar Crockett, 29, of Gainesville. Caesar Crockett was last seen in a faded black long-sleeve t-shirt and black basketball shorts with three red and white striped on the side.

The FDLE said that the two may be travelling in a 2007 black Pontiac G5 with a temporary tag out of Georgia. The number is S0325629.
