Opp, Ala. (WDHN) — An opportunity to mix and mingle in ‘The City of Opportunity’ will be later this month.
On Saturday, before Halloween, thousands of folks from across Northwest Florida and the Wiregrass will gather for the 21st annual ‘Opp Fest.’
Despite warm temperatures, the city of Opp is transforming into Fall. Pumpkins and scarecrows adorn much of the downtown district. On October 30, the community will roll out the red carpet to residents and out-of-towners.
It’s being put on by the city’s downtown redevelopment authority. They’ll be arts and craft booths,
food vendors, a car show, and musical entertainment.
“That’s the whole purpose of it,” City Event Organizer Pam Potter said. “To get people out and into the community, go into some of these businesses, they will come out, bring money into Opp. We have restaurants downtown and several businesses that will be open as well.”
The city’s chamber director feels it’s great to showcase the community.
Kelly Brandon is the Director of the Opp Chamber of Commerce. She told WDHN News that it is a great introduction to the community. Tourists who want to come this way we welcome them. Also, the chamber investors set up Fall displays all around the Opp Depot.
