DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Saturday, Oct. 16 is the Southeast Health Foundation’s Annual community cancer awareness event: Champions of Hope.
This year, it will include a 5k, 10k, and Spirit Walk, as well as a concert to honor those who have battled cancer and support those who are doing so now.
In previous years, the event was held at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine or ACOM, but this year, everything will be happening at the plant in downtown Dothan.
“All the proceeds from our Champions of Hope event go to the cancer center at Southeast Health,” Southeast Health Foundation Director, Amy Bunting said. “That provides treatment screenings right here in this community.”
The races and walk will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
