This month, the website (slacker.com) compiled 2020 U.S. Census figures to determine Alabama’s “highest median” income rankings amongst the state’s 67 counties.
The national median income is 67,521 dollars. In Alabama, Shelby County in the Birmingham area had the “highest” household income at 78,889 dollars.
Coffee County came in “highest” in the wiregrass with an income level of $56,791 dollars. It ranks eighth highest statewide.
In other wiregrass counties’ median income levels, Henry County comes in 16th “highest” statewide,
Houston county at 20th, and Dale County at 29th.
