DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan residents had the opportunity to get a cup of coffee this morning, while also talking with members of law enforcement.

Coffee with Cops is held three times a year, at different coffee shops around Dothan.

It was held at Mural City Coffee this morning from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Members of the community were able to talk to discuss problems they have seen in the community, or areas that officers may need to look into.

Everyone who attended the event in downtown Dothan was given a free cup of coffee, thanks to the Dothan Police Department.

“It gives our community a chance to come in and fellowship with us, and maybe talk about some of the problems they may be having or experiencing in their neighborhoods,” Dothan Police Sergeant Taiwan Truitt said. “As well as some of the programs that we offer.”

Dothan police offer programs for the community, such as a neighbor watch program, and also citizen firearm classes.
