Commissioners approved rezone request to improve Westside Dothan

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan planning commissioners approved a rezoning request on Wednesday.

Developers at NorthStar Engineering services plan to expand the corner of Flowers Chapel Road and Brannon Stand Road.

One of their plans is to expand east of that intersection, to create a driveway back to that corner. Civil engineer with NorthStar, Lee Brown said the proposed development also includes a touchless delivery convenience store.

He believes residents in that area will benefit from both the new construction and the store.

“The patrons don’t actually go to the store, you just drive around the building and pop the trunk, and you know they come out and bring your order,” Brown said. “Run in and grab some chips and a gallon of milk, and not even have to get out the car. It’ll be beneficial to the people that live and go to school and just travel those two busy highways.”

Currently, commissioners are in the process of getting approval from the corporation that will operate the new store.

WDHN will keep you updated on this development.
