DECATUR, GA. (WDHN) — The fifth suspect in a double murder that crossed state lines was made on April 26.
The U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested MacAuthur Mike Hawkins in Decatur, Georgia without incident.
Hawkins was wanted for his alleged role in the deaths of Shauna Terry and Damien Bell, who were both killed in July of 2022.
Hawkins joins Sheena Marie Thurman, David Allen Bastian, Joshua Deavours Parks, and Davante Laquae Williams in being charged with the couple’s murder.
Police believe the couple was kidnapped days before they were killed, one being shot in Holmes County, Florida, and the other in Dothan. Their bodies were found on Thurman’s property in Bonifay, Florida, according to police.
Dothan Police say Hawkins was using a false identity and was living with a person portraying themself as someone they were not.
Hawkins will be held in Georgia until extradition to the Houston County Jail can be arranged.
When he is brought back to Houston County, Hawkins will be facing murder, kidnapping, and abuse of a corpse charge.
Hawkins is being held without bond.
