PIKE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Authorities are on the scene in Pike County searching for remains, after receiving a tip. It’s day two of the search for 17-year-old Morgan Martin.

PIKE COUNTY, Ala, (WDHN) — Authorities are searching for a body in Pike County, in connection to a 2012 Florida murder case.

Police believe 17-year-old Morgan Martin was murdered in Florida and Jacobee Flowers may have buried her body in Pike County.

Martin was pregnant at the time of her murder.

Detectives with the St. Petersburg Police Department are currently working with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office in the search for the body.

Authorities are searching for the body south of Brundidge off US-231, three miles north of the Coffee County line.

Flowers on March 31st changed his plea from not guilty to guilty of Murder in the second degree.

Flowers will be sentenced on April 28th for the killing of 17-year-old Morgan Martin.

Yolanda Fernandez with St. Petersburg Police Department confirmed that they got a tip that the victim in the Jacobee Flowers case may be buried in Pike County, Alabama.

Police say they believe that Martin and Flowers were in a relationship and Flowers drove to Pike County and buried the body in 2012.

On Thursday, Pike County Sheriff’s have been working to excavate the body and find the remains.

Pike County Sheriff’s, along with St. Petersburg Police officers will be continuing this process on Friday.
