DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN)— A man accused of setting two Dothan buildings on fire earlier this year entered a plea of not guilty in court on Thursday.

Jeffrey Watford, 38, of Dothan is accused of starting two structure fires just minutes apart in downtown Dothan on March 28.

According to a Dothan Police Department press release, officers saw Watford leaving the scene of the second fire, a two-story motel. He was detained as a part of the investigation and was later arrested and charged with two counts of arson in the second degree.

Police said Watford confessed to the crimes, but there was no known motive.

Watford is still in the Houston County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
