DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — WDHN has received new photos of the suspects police say were involved in the armed robbery of a Dothan gas station/store.
According to the police report, two men went into the Hobo Pantry on Tuesday afternoon. One was armed and fired a shot inside the store, though no one was injured. Then the other suspect went behind the counter and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
Just before 4 p.m., police were clearing the tape and heading out when a sense of urgency swept over the police as they flashed their lights and sped down Denton Road.
They received a tip the two men left the Hobo Pantry on foot and were last seen running southeast through the woods.
WDHN canvased the apartment complex in that direction and while no one wanted to go on cameras, a few residents said they were worried that it happened so close.
Police received information the suspects could be in a tree line close by and searched the area for around 30 minutes, but after investigation, the report turned out to be not true. There is currently a bolo, or be on the lookout, for the suspects and this is still an ongoing investigation.
