UPDATE:

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Bond has been set for a Dothan man after police say he sexually assaulted a woman and tried to rape her at the Dothan library.

Anthony Paul Salmon, 37, of Dothan is facing a combined bond of $750,000. He is currently in the Houston County Jail.

Dothan Police say the crime happened at the Dothan Houston County Library System on North Oates Street.

Salmon’s preliminary hearing is set for July 15th at 9 a.m. at the Houston County Courthouse.


DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Dothan man has been charged after police say he sexually assaulted a woman and tried to rape her.

On Friday, Dothan Police officers responded to the 400 block of North Oates Street after they say they received a report of a sexual assault. 

Officers say, Anthony Paul Salmon, 37, of Dothan approached a female and sexually assaulted her, and attempted to rape her.

Salmon has been charged with one count of first-degree sexual abuse, and one count of first-degree attempted rape. 

He is currently in the Houston County Jail with no bond set.
