GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WDHN) — A Dothan man has been arrested in Georgia after escaping from custody in Houston County.

James Norton of Dothan was found and arrested on Tuesday by deputies in Grady County, Georgia after fleeing from officials in Houston County, Alabama, according to a Grady County investigator.

A Georgia official says Norton was arrested at a home on Elkins Road in Grady County. He is charged with second-degree escape, which is a felony charge. He was also charged with having prison contraband.

Norton will be extradited in the coming days to Houston County to face his charges.
