DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan Police charged a man with five counts of attempted assault on Friday after police say he shot a firearm at four people.

On April 1, Roy Lee James, 34, of Dothan fired several shots from a weapon toward a vehicle that had an adult and four juveniles inside, according to police. 

The incident happened in the 100 block of Clayton Street, a public housing community. 

Just before the incident, an altercation happened between one of James’ family members and one of the people in the vehicle, police say. 

No injuries have been reported.

James was charged with five counts of first-degree attempted assault. He was released from jail on a bond of $75,000 on Friday night.
