DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Dothan man has been charged with arson after police say he intentionally left his stove on and then left his apartment.

On June 7, the Dothan Fire Department and the Dothan Police Department responded to a report of a structure fire at an apartment building in the 300 block of Sixth Avenue.

Police say a witness saw, Torenzo Marquis Perry, 25, of Dothan, stack random items on top of the stove and intentionally turn the stove on, and walk out of the apartment.

The witness then called the fire department and the fire was extinguished before any major damage happened to the apartment.

Perry, 25, of Dothan, has been charged with one count of first-degree arson. His bond is set at $60,000.
