DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Dothan man has been charged with burglary after police say he threw a woman to the floor.

On Friday, Anthony Kevin Phillips, Jr., 33, of Dothan, went to a person’s home on Cynthia Drive.

After being allowed to enter the home, the victim realized Phillips was not acting rationally as he became aggressive, according to Dothan Police.  The victim, in fear of their safety, told Phillips to leave.

After refusing to leave, Phillips followed the victim who was trying to flee. He then threw the victim to the floor before a family member intervened, police say.

Phillips was then charged with second-degree burglary. He is currently in the Houston County Jail with a bond set at $30,000.

Dothan police say he was charged with burglary because of his intent to assault the victim and his refusal to leave their home. Phillips did not steal anything during the incident.
