DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) —On May 4, Dothan Police rushed to an unoccupied home in the 1300 block of Haisten Drive on reports of a burglary.

According to Dothan Police, while officers were taking the report, they were alerted to another burglary of an occupied home in the 1700 block of Haisten Drive and officers were able to locate the described suspect leaving the area of the second burglary.

Police say the suspect, identified as Shawn Whitaker, had property from the first burglary in his possession.

Whitaker was arrested and charged with one count of Burglary in the Second Degree, one count of Burglary in the Third Degree, and one count of Theft of Property in the Third Degree. He is being held on a total bond of $55,000.
