DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Dothan man has been charged after police say he tried to destroy four fake checks.

On Saturday, Dothan patrol officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle they say tried to flee from officers.

Once the vehicle came to a stop in the 900 block of Allen Road, officers asked all occupants to leave the vehicle.

While exiting, Dothan Police say a passenger threw an unknown object out the passenger window. As officers investigated to see what the objects were, they say they found four fraudulent checks the passenger tried to destroy to avoid being caught with them.

Police identified the passenger as Jumarion Nasir Walker, 18, of Dothan.

Walker was charged with four counts of third-degree possession of a forged instrument.

His bond was set at $40,000.00.
