OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — The court case in Ozark of a man accused of killing two Dothan teenage students has been moved — and key witnesses are being called to testify

Coley McCraney will be tried for the murder of Tracie Hewlett, and J.B. Beasley back in 1999.

Two subpoenas were issued on Tuesday by the court for two witnesses that the defense feels could prove helpful in their case.

McCraney’s attorneys tried to present an alternative theory last month that a former police officer may have been involved in the murder and asked to introduce evidence linked to a ” video” that he received about that.

His defense attorneys say they have received that video and these witnesses are crucial.

The pending motions trial will be on July 21. Jury selection is scheduled for August 8.

The trial is set to begin on August 15.
