DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Police say a Dothan PreparatoryAcademy student is charged with assault after stabbing another student over a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Two teens were involved in an argument in the hallway at Dothan Prep over the sandwich, when one of the teens stabbed the other with a hair pick, according to Dothan City Schools spokesperson Meagan Dorsey.

The injuries caused by the hair pick are minor, but the teen responsible for the stabbing was charged with assault, according to Dothan Police.

Since this is a case involving two teenagers, limited information will be provided.
