HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — A man was arrested in Dothan on Sunday on two attempted murder charges stemming from a shooting in March, according to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.
Tashon Shantell Poke, 23, was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder and second-degree possession of marijuana on Sunday.
Poke is a suspect in shooting into an occupied vehicle in Kinsey on March 21, the Houston County Sheriff’s Office says.
Dothan Police say off-duty officers were working security in the parking lot in the 3800 block of Ross Clark Circle on Sunday, April 10, around 2 a.m. when officers heard gunshots nearby.
As officers arrived at the scene where shots were coming from, a vehicle was seen speeding away from the scene, police say. Officers say they were told that one of the suspects in the vehicle may have been involved in a shooting in March.
Dothan Police then made a traffic stop on the vehicle where Poke was riding as a passenger.
Poke is currently in the Houston County Jail with no bond set.
