DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Dothan man has been charged with chemical endangerment of a child.
On Sunday, March 12, officers went to a home on the 1300 block of Stadium Street to make contact with an adult male regarding his outstanding felony warrant, according to Dothan Police.
Authorities say they noticed that the man and three kids were inside the home and the man refused to open the door.
Officials say they noticed a strong odor of illegal narcotics coming from inside the home and after several minutes the man eventually allowed officers to enter the residence. A search warrant was performed and as a result, marijuana was found in various locations in the home along with items of drug paraphernalia, according to Dothan Police.
James Arshan III, 41, of Dothan, was arrested on the original outstanding warrant for second-degree-receiving stolen property, and additionally charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and three counts of chemical endangerment of a child, according to officials. His bond is set at $60,000
