DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A man was shot during a robbery on Denton Road Friday night, according to the Dothan Police Department.

Around 9 p.m., a man was approached by a woman asking for a ride while at a business on the 3000 block of Denton Road. The man agreed and once the woman got into his vehicle she took out a gun and demanded him to drive.

The two ended up stopping in the 2300 block of Denton Road.

After stopping, the man got out of his car but the woman demanded to give her his keys. The driver refused and that’s when she shot him in the arm, according to the DPD release.

She got his keys and drove away in his vehicle which was found abandoned in Headland several hours later.

The victim has been transported to an out-of-town facility for specialized treatment.

DPD says the suspect is a black female, 5’8-5’11 tall, 20-25 years old, had a lip piercing, wearing a green jacket with short white pants.
