MIDLAND CITY, Ala. (WDHN) — A Midland City man is accused of multiple crimes including drug possession and pointing a loaded weapon, according to the Midland City Police Chief Jimmy Singleton.

On Friday night around 10:30 p.m., a Midland City police officer approached a disturbance at Midtown Apartments. Multiple suspects were arrested after the officer discovered fighting, open drinking, and drugs were involved. One suspect, Jeremy Rumph, 30, was in possession of a loaded gun.

Rumph is charged with possession of a controlled substance, persons forbidden to possess a firearm, menacing, and disorderly conduct/disturbing the peace.

Rumph also is accused of pointing the firearm at people at the scene of the disturbance, according to Chief Singleton.

Rumph is currently in the Dale County Jail with no bond set.

Chief Singleton also stated that more charges may be pending due to Rumph’s possession and wielding of a loaded gun.
