MIDLAND CITY, Ala (WDHN) — Authorities have arrested a suspect wanted for the armed robbery of a convenience store in Midland City.
According to Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum, on the morning of Wednesday, February 8, a Dothan Police officer recognized a car allegedly driven by the robbery suspect, earlier identified as Chase Christian Miller, outside of a Motel 6 in Dothan.
Bynum says authorities were able to take Miller into custody without incident and he will face charges in Houston and Dale County.
According to Midland City Police Chief Jimmy Singleton, the robbery occurred on the morning of Monday, February 6, at 2:00 a.m., when Miller, 25, walked into Circle K in Midland City and pulled a gun on the store clerk. Miller took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled.
MCPD says Miller could have been driving a white or silver Dodge Challenger with Texas Plates.
At the time of the robbery, Singleton described the Miller as approximately 5’9, wearing orange pants and a white t-shirt, a blue ball cap with a white logo on the front, long dark hair in a ponytail, a mustache and beard, and tattoos on both arms.
According to Sheriff Bynum, around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, a Midland City Police Officer saw the suspected car and Miller in Newton and began a pursuit but quickly lost sight of Miller.
Sheriff Bynum says not long after the short chase in Newton, he saw Miller driving down Highway 134 between Newton and Daleville, and after attempting a traffic stop, another pursuit began which went through several neighborhoods and onto Highway 84, eventually leading into Level Plains where authorities lost sight of Miller once again.
Midland City Police, Daleville Police, and the Dale County Sheriff’s Office were involved in the chase.
