TROY, Ala. (WDHN) – A Troy woman is charged with the murder of her husband after police say she shot him during a domestic dispute.
On Sunday night just after 10 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle crash that was reported in the 600 block of Pine Street in Troy. When officers arrived, they located an older model pickup truck that had left the roadway and struck an embankment. The truck was occupied by Quinta Dionne Maddox, 35 of Troy in the driver’s seat in critical condition. Police say Maddox was able to communicate with responding officers that he had been shot but could not give any other information due to his condition.
Officials say that Maddox was later removed from his crashed vehicle by fire crews and taken to Troy Regional Medical Center, where Maddox later died.
After further investigation, police say the crime scene was at Maddox’s residence, which is also in the 600 block of Pine Street near the crash site. The investigation revealed that Maddox and his wife, Tyiesha Renee Pollard,41 of Troy were involved in a domestic situation when Maddox was shot.
Pollard has been charged with murder. Police says she will be processed through the Troy City Jail and then transported to the Pike County Jail where she will be held with no bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.
