OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — An Ozark man has been arrested after police say he struck a police officer who was trying to arrest him for stalking a woman.
Ozark Police responded after they say a woman reported that Deandre Currington, 44, of Ozark, was stalking her at her home from across the street.
When officers tried to take Currington into custody, police say he struck one officer. That officer did not need medical attention.
After a brief struggle, police arrested Currington.
Currington is charged with resisting arrest, second-degree domestic violence (second-degree assault), first-degree stalking, attempting to elude, and violation of a protection order.
He is currently in the Dale County Jail with no bond set.
