OZARK, Ala (WDHN)– Following a 48-day search, a 28-year-old Ozark man was arrested after police said he shot into the home of his ex-girlfriend while her kids were inside.
On February 5, at approximately 12:00 am, the Ozark Police Department responded to 200 block of College Lane in reference to an person shooting into a home.
According to Ozark Police, during an investigation into the shooting, officers named Demetrick Culver as the prime suspect and say he shot multiple times into his ex-girlfriends home while her and her children were home.
Police say that later that same day, officers arrived at a home on Debra Lane where Culver lived but found that he had left moments before they arrived, and while searching the home, authorities found synthetic marijuana and obtained a warrant for Culvers’ arrest for drug trafficking.
On Friday, March 24, OPD and the U.S Marshals Service executed a search warrant at Andrews Parks apartments.
According to OPD, during the search, authorities located and arrested Culver, and also found the gun that was used in the shooting.
Culver was charged with Attempted Murder, Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling and Drug
Trafficking.
