OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) – An Ozark woman accused of neglecting and abusing her elderly mother now has a set bond of $10,000, according to the Dale County Sheriff’s Office.
Wendy Woodham, 58 of Ozark was arrested early Saturday morning after police say they found Woodham’s 81-year-old mother needing immediate medical treatment during a wellness check in their shared home.
According to Ozark Police, when first responders entered the home they found the mother on the ground suffering from severe malnourishment, dehydration, and flesh rot.
Deputy Chief Micheal Bryan says the mother was taken to a Dothan hospital for treatment and is in critical condition.
The case remains under investigation by the Ozark Police Department and Chief Charles Ward says he won’t rule out additional charges
Jail records state Woodham was released from the Dale County Jail at 2:50 p.m.
