SAMSON, Ala. (WDHN) — On Wednesday, Alabama authorities raided King Drug Store in Samson, officials confirm.

The Alabama State Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) raided the small-town pharmacy on Broad Street around dawn.

ALBOP says it’s the culmination of a year and a half investigation but would not elaborate on the nature of the investigation.

Although King’s Drug Store is indefinitely closed, authorities say that anyone who needs to pick up existing prescriptions from the pharmacy can still pick them up at the drive-through window.

This is a developing story and WDHN will have more information on our broadcasts tonight.

Note: Samson Mayor Clay King is not associated with King Drug Store.
