NAPIER FIELD, Ala (WDHN)– Napier Field Police are looking for two suspects allegedly involved in a high-speed chase from Napier Field to Dothan that ended in a crash.
Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, Napier Field Police were notified by dispatch of a reported stolen vehicle from Dothan traveling on Napier Field Road heading towards Wallace Community College.
According to Investigator Aaron Cook, who responded to the call, the suspected vehicle turned through a neighborhood near the college and began making its way toward Dothan. Cook and Midland City Police attempted to perform a traffic stop, but the vehicle sped up and a chase ensued.
The vehicle turned on Flynn Road where it ran off the roadway and crashed into a tree at a high rate of speed, according to Cook. The car had extensive damage and began to smoke and make popping noises but did not catch fire.
Cook says three suspects were in the car at the time of the crash. Two of the unidentified suspects got out of the car and fled the scene on foot, but one juvenile was taken in to custody and transported to Southeast Health with unknown injuries, Cook told WDHN.
The investigation is ongoing and police will release no further information at this time.
