DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The man accused of leaving the scene of a hit and run on Thursday has been released from jail, according to jail records.

Christian Wade Haney, 24, of Ashford, accused of felony leaving the scene of an accident, bonded out on Monday at 1:06 p.m.

Haney posted a bond of $2,500.


DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The suspect in the hit and run crash that left a six-year-old hospitalized on Thursday has been arrested, according to a press release.

On Monday, Christian Wade Haney, 24, of Ashford was arrested for felony leaving the scene of an accident.

Haney’s arrest comes after he is accused of crashing into a vehicle on Thursday afternoon. According to Dothan Police, a 2000’s white Chevrolet Tahoe traveling around 40 to 45 miles an hour struck the vehicle and then sped away. Ashley Bush, the driver of the vehicle that was hit, says her son, McKinley, had multiple injuries from the crash, including two skull fractures.

Bush told WDHN, after spending days in a Birmingham hospital, her son has now been discharged.

Haney was identified through community tips and with help from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

Haney is currently in the Houston County Jail with no bond set.
