DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) —The search for a person(s) who shot and killed a 21-year-old Dothan man on Thursday night continues.

Alfonso Morrissette was shot at the Alexander Court Apartments in the chest and later died at Southeast Health on Thursday night.

This wasn’t the first time that Morrissette was shot at this week.

He was shot at on Alexander Drive on Wednesday night. Morrissette wasn’t hit by the gunfire, but vehicles and buildings were damaged.

Zyshawn Coker was arrested and charged for Wednesday’s shooting.

Keith Helms remains on the run and is a suspect in Wednesday’s shooting.

Morrissette has a criminal history of his own.

He was granted probation for three years in Houston County on October 12th for charges including receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana, and obstructing governmental operation.

He was asked by a Houston County judge to try to obtain his GED within the year.

Morrissette then went back to Geneva County to deal with some pending charges.

Charges that he illegally had weapons in his car.

He pled guilty to those charges and was sentenced to 24 months of unsupervised probation on Tuesday. One day before he was shot at and two days before he was shot and killed.

Childhood friends of Morrissette say that he was friends with everybody and would always make people feel included in conversations.

One friend says when his mother passed away nearly 6 years ago is when Morrissette’s life changed.

“His lifestyle changed a lot,” Childhood friend, Jacorey Fairley said. “He was like a little bit different.”
