DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN)— A Georgia woman accused of killing a Dothan man in his sleep has been denied youthful offender status by a Houston County judge.

A source close to the case has confirmed Zycheria Russ has been denied youthful offender status.

If youthful offender status would have been granted, no court documents or rulings would be public knowledge throughout her case.

The justice system did not fail me today. I will get justice for my son.

In early December 2021, Russ was named the second suspect in the murder of Sincere Tyson murder and was taken into custody by federal agents in Bainbridge, Georgia.

20-year-old Tyson was shot at least once while sleeping in his Abbey-Oaks apartment after his niece’s birthday party in October 2021.

Russ was the second arrest made in the Tyson murder case.

In November 2021, Fifty-nine days after Tyson’s murder, 20-year-old Solomon Cooper was taken in to custody in Muscogee County, Georgia on separate charges and was later extradited to Alabama.

In early February 2023, Cooper, of Climax, Georgia, was indicted on a capital murder charge by a Houston County Grand Jury.

The final suspect has not been named but Lerwanna McClinden, the mother of Tyson, says the U.S Marshals are searching for them.
