DALE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — On Tuesday, Dale County commissioners approved a contract to upgrade the County Sheriff’s communication system.
Dale County’s current system covers the entire county and is digital, requiring constant updates running like a computer. This means the software has to be constantly updated.
Sheriff Wally Olson said the most important factor in the contract is that it will keep the equipment updated and help when communicating with all other law enforcement.
“Well it gives the deputies and investigators as well as other law enforcement the means to communicate in case they are in a situation where they need help or anything else,” Olson said. “This gives them that way of making contact with other units.”
The upgraded system will enable the Sheriff’s Department to get additional resources when needed during any situation that happens.
