DALEVILLE, Ala. (WDHN) — Daleville Animal Hospital held its first ‘Red Wag and Blue’ fundraiser today.

The animal hospital is fundraising for the wiregrass animal group — who they work closely with by providing services like spaying and neutering dogs belonging to them.

WAG is a nonprofit foster-based rescue for strictly dogs who are homeless, abandoned, or surrendered.

Dr. Felecia Lawrence said the Wiregrass Animal Group does wonders for the community and they wanted to figure out a way to give back.

“WAG is donation based and foster-based and all these people do these things on their own time and that’s really important, so again just how much WAG does to serve the community and people sacrificing their own time is incredible,” Dr. Lawrence said.

Vendors and the pet photographer donated a portion of their profits to the animal group. Lawrence said the turnout was great and she’s looking forward to bringing the event back next year.
