DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — DCS recently received approximately 100,000 in ESSER funds.
With that money, they’ll provide all students grades K-12 with the basic school supplies during the school year to relieve families of the financial burden.
DCS Public Information Officer Meagan Dorsey says they want to help families who may be feeling the impact of COVID-19.
“Amongst all of the things we are doing in our school system to really maximize the use of our funding we thought school supplies would be one of the biggest areas,” She said. “That way, our students K-12 will have what they need and start the school year off in a great way.”
Funding won’t cover supplies for Pre-k programs. Organizations are encouraged to donate supplies.
