DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan Fire Department is investigating what started a fire on Bel Aire Street on the west side of Dothan Friday night.

According to rescue crews, firefighters responded to a call around 6:15 in the evening. When WDHN crews arrived, the fire was already out, with just a little smoke coming from the house and what appeared to be damage to one room inside.

The homeowners told WDHN that someone was vacuuming and accidentally pulled the cord out of the wall which they think caused the fire.

But until DFD completes its investigation, officials said they’re not sure what caused the fire.
